Unfortunately our main server is down again, we will try to resolve the issue in the next few days.
Thanks for your comprehension.

Thx for the update
I think that the server is too often down :-(
Not sure if its official but there is a mirror. Add this to your sources.list:
deb http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/getdeb/ubuntu lucid-getdeb apps deb-src http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/getdeb/ubuntu lucid-getdeb apps
@jedd: thanks for the mirror!
I miss getdeb :(
Thank you jedd! By adding the mirror to my sources.list I was able to get the updated Webilder installed. For the first time since upgrading to lucid I'm able to fire up my favorite wallpaper manager/changer. that makes me one happy penguin.
hope u can fix it soon - we miss u
please
repair that. i am getdeb addiction and i am in an attack.
all the best...
Do you have any estimate to when getdeb will be available again?
We have no estimate for the site to be available.
We are looking for a new hosting sponsorship.
Thanks for the mirror to jedd from me too and good luck fixing the server.
@IBEIT - I miss playdeb more :) there was some games I'd had to try, but haven't got the time...
Please restore playdeb soon, as I am an addict.
which requirements are placed on the server?
Thanks Jedd.
Is there some way to access a copy of the key via the mirror site as well?
That's unfortunate. Hope you can resolve your problems soon. Best of luck to you.
Espero que consigas resolver esta situação brevemente
if it's due to using too much bandwidth, how much are we talking about? and how much bandwidth were you using before you became an apt repository?
Good luck finding new hosting sponsorship! Playdeb is the only repo I've seen for any linux distribution that has a decent and comprehensive list of games and emulators.
Does anyone know how the progress is going.
GETDEB: what kind of hosting do you need? how much bandwidth do you use on a monthly basis?
I am sure there are some of us users who will chip in and keep the valuable service going if it is reasonable.
Is there a reason you don't use a PPA (Launchpad) to publish your packages ?
yeah, a move to playdeb/getdeb PPA would be the best... and website just for letting us know what is new ;)
$ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys A8A515F046D7E7CF
Key for the mirror
which requirements are placed on the server?
You know.. Oregon State Universities Open Source Lab, http://osuosl.org/ hosts lots of Open source projects, like Kernel.org, Drupal, one of firefox's biggest download servers, etc.
You might want to ask them...
Hey guys, you've seen the enormous support the community has been offering to you over the last months, please consider some of the ideas given in this blog to put it running again. Your service was a first class one!!!!
Yeah as already stated we all me you T_T... very much actually... If you find time soon it could be awesome to see the site up and running again... Surely you can find someone who wants to host you... MAybe as already suggested a PPA or OSUOSL?
Hope we see this brilliant service up and running again sometime soon
Miss you, getdeb. Hope you'll find server soon.
I don't have a server, but I could drop a few dollars if the donation link were available.
Can a placeholder site go up that, maybe doesn't have the bandwidth for the site, but at least explains the situation and posts the donation link?
Honestly never understood the free ride in the first place? Seriously, force me (and others) to subscribe for $5 per month via paypal. Not this donation nonsense, but as a service! :)
Why not have the site as a post for the new apps and have a ppa set up to hold the packages?
Have to agree with Matt. These services, after migrating to their new UI, became very valuable, since at that point it became just point and click to install anything. I think valuable enough that the web UI should be a subscription service. As everyone else noted, the packages on getdeb/playdeb are mirrored, so we haven't lost access completely. The thing is that people have become dependent on the web UI and don't use the native package managers in most Debian/Debian-based distros.
I've added the following line:
deb http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/getdeb/ubuntu lucid-getdeb apps
But don't i need an authentication key? Synaptic comes up with a message telling me that the souce can't me verified.
Espero que dentro em breve consigam compor tudo para que se possa recorrer ao excelentes repositorios da GETDEB...
Fico á espera! ;-)

The site is up and running now.
You must be getting some massive traffic. Site is slower than the progress of the plot in The Happening. lol
God bless you joão
Site is up, but when i trying make mirror i got error:
server ~ # rsync -avz --delete rsync://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb /mnt/data/mirror/getdeb/
rsync: failed to connect to archive.getdeb.net: Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.7]
I want to make mirror, but:
server ~ # rsync -avz --delete rsync://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb /mnt/data/mirror/getdeb/
rsync: failed to connect to archive.getdeb.net: Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.7]
I can confirm this.
I am in the process of setting up a backup mirror. It isn't fully done rsync'ing, but should be in another day or two.
