Any news?
It would be helpful to point www.getdeb.net to the blog.getdeb.net site. I didn't even know this site existed until I did a google search "is getdeb down" and saw someone complaining that the wike and blog sites are up but www was down. Just a thought since I know many people that I have setup to use ubuntu and add getdeb for songbird and they won't be as savvy to find out why the repository is failing.
I really love the service you provide, keep up the good work! :)
Good luck for resolving the problem!
This is the best web service for open souce. keep on rock!
An update about where you guys are in getting the service back up would be nice if possible, so we can plan our own updates.
Love your service and hopefully it'll come back soon.
Hello,
the web server is a VMWare running instance. The www VM is crashing and we are unable to identify the problem at this time. Rebooting the server requires vmware admin privileges and has been effective for a few minutes before the next restart.
We will be looking for a backup solution until we can identify the problem.
Hey João,
thanks for running getdeb. Hope the problems are solved soon.
On a side note, if you are looking for host you might want to get in touch with Gandi as they already support Debian, they might accept to support your great project (http://www.gandi.net/supports/). No promise tho, I don't work for them ;D
Good luck getting it resolved. I love the service you guys provide. However if ever there was a need for having mirrors. This has proved it!!
We got a backup server sponsored by clustercube.com, services are currently being moved to the backup server.
must have been a pretty major issue. hope this can be resolved soon....
hey, sorry for your crash.
hope you guys fix 'em soon.
this is fist download form your site and in the midlle of that i stuck but nevermind. these things happen as i know by being a programmer.
Perhaps it's not the same, but it's worth a shot in the dark, read this: Weird Virtualbox failures.
hi,
we can provide a mirror to this project at our public servers
if interested, please contact me: nuno@nfsi.pt
Guys, is there any sort of ETA on this?
It's getting annoying keep checking to see if it's working and it's not.
I joked to the Mrs when I reinstalled on Saturday and then found the site down that I bet it now ends up down for days!
I wish I hadn't joked.
Good luck getting your sites up again. Im also was unaware about this blog till I tried to do a search about what was going wrong with you guys. Hope the whole issue does not get much moore messy than this. Cheers.
Best wishes! Thanks for keeping us informed about the trouble.
We already have most of the services setup on a new virtual server.
Unfortunately there are some critical config and scripts files on the old server.
I am waiting to get access to the old VM to get this files.
Really, dudes, keep up the good work - but, srsly, keep it up already!
Kidding. Cheers.
First, I love Getdeb. Good stuff, man.
But can I get an ETA here? I rely on it heavily, and am missing this service horribly.
The web front end is already up, I will be working on the archive ASAP.
Thank you!
Great! The website without 'www.' isn't working by the way.
(Who needs www. anyway?)
I think I saw somebody else saying they had severe problems with a recent version of VMWare. I don't play with it myself, so I'm basically oblivious. But apparently the only solution is to downgrade.
Still down? It has been three months.
seriously? three months? man you guys are slow.
I'm just commenting here in hope that I will receive an e-mail when the server is up again.
Every time I install a software there is a problem with getdeb. But it seems that the software is well installed. But can you tell me what happen if I stop the install process when it is trying to connect to getdeb.
